Your First 90 Days in Taiwan

Instant download • 46 pages

I've lived in Taiwan for six years. I did my master's degree in Chinese at NTU, worked inside Taiwanese companies, and have helped a lot of people navigate this move, some who thrived immediately, some who took longer, and a few who left earlier than they planned.

The ones who struggled usually had the same problem: they arrived without a clear picture of what the first three months actually look like.

This guide fixes that. It walks you through everything in the right order,  from the airport on day one to building a real life by month three. Visa and ARC applications, the banking system and why your branch choice matters more than your bank choice, NHI enrollment rules, realistic cost of living tables, neighbourhood guides for Taipei and beyond, job market realities, Mandarin learning options, and an honest section on homesickness and adjustment that most expat guides skip entirely.

46 pages. A master checklist you can tick off as you go. A full resource directory of every site and service you'll actually need.

Written by someone who's been there, not someone who googled it.

About me

I lived in Taiwan for six years. I arrived in 2016 for a year of language study and stayed, completing a Master's degree taught entirely in Mandarin at National Taiwan University, working full-time inside Taiwanese startups and companies, and building the kind of network that only comes from being embedded somewhere for a long time.

I now split my time between Europe and Taipei, running Bubble Tea Island to help Europeans navigate the move to Taiwan, and co-founding Polylocal, a cross-cultural consultancy bridging Taiwan and Europe.
